Bali is one of the most beautiful and diverse tourist spots in Asia. The majority of Bali's 4 mio. people live in tight village communities while the largest towns are the capital Denpasar, with population approximately 250,000, and Singaraja in the north.

Bali attracts almost 4,000,000 international tourists in a year with its beaches and its culture, spiritual believes, music and dance.

The Balinese religion is a unique blend of Hindu, Buddhist, Javanese, and ancient indigenous beliefs.

The people of Bali have strong spiritual roots and the traditional culture is still very much alive. The main religion is Hinduism which arrived through Sumatra and Java during the 11th century.

The main tourist area is Kuta with white-sand beaches, surfing, and stunning sunsets. 

The impact of tourism in Bali is enormous and tourism industries is now the main source of income in Bali. Culture and tourism are not always a "good pair" and the question already arises how much tourism Bali can take without losing its unique spiritual life and soul.
