Bali Orchid Garden by Janina E.-G.

Imagine four young ladies having one week without lectures, wishing to experience Bali from a different side than only seeing the normal objects of interests…

… This is how we started reading travel guides and internet reports and so we got to know about “the ten things you have to have seen in Indonesia”. One of these things is the “Bali Orchid Garden”. So we took the chance and went to the mentioned garden which is located in the north of Sanur and only 40 minutes away from our current home in Kerobokan.

Arriving there we got 20% discount due to our student identity card of the EOC and so we only paid 80.000 IDR. This price included a welcome drink and a guide who showed us the variety of the flowers and plants in general in the garden.

The diversity of colors, flora and fruits was impressive. We saw baby pine apples, colored palm trunks, tequila plants and of course a big number of different types of orchids. We smelled bloomy flowers and disgusting plants, tried the star fruit and saw a black bat flower.

At the end of the tour with the guide we had time to enjoy and relax on one of the verandas and keep on enjoying the sound of the birds, far away from the noisy streets of Bali.

So for those who like flowers and silence, the visit of the Bali Orchid Garden it is worth. Further it shows a completely new side of Bali with colors, fragrances and calm.
