Today’s increasingly globalised world poses many challenges when seeking job opportunities and higher level education. Employers seek new competencies such as ability to work and live harmoniously in different cultures. EOC provides students with international cultural experience, helping them to understand the complexities of relations between countries, economies, cultures and people by developing their:
- professional background,
- international experience,
- intercultural competence.
The combination of studying and living in an Asian culture gives firsthand experience of the fastest growing economic region in the world.
Besides this the EOC offers additional advantages for students from Europe like:
- international study contents presented by lecturers from Asia-Pacific and Europe
- all courses are taught in English, the international business language
- studying together with participants from different universities and/or nationalities
- living in a different cultural, religious, economic and non-western environment
- studying abroad with quality criteria as in Europe
- last not least EOC is a contribution for students from Europe to be prepared for new professional challenges in a global competition and for internationalization of European universities abroad
What students have to say...
Alex from Wismar:...Everybody thinks: That must be holiday. But it is not! It was a semester of interesting subjects with experienced lecturers from all over the world. It was hard work to meet all the criteria of EOC to get a good mark. Of course, there is still time for holiday and time to experience the diversity and culture of Bali, to enjoy nice beaches, go surfing, and in disco partying; And it brings even the chance to travel around South-East Asia.
Nadine from Dorsheim:...I've chosen Bali and especially the EOC because the seminars also focussed on Asia. It was an unforgettable experience due to combination of really interesting seminars, the fascinating culture and the beautiful nature. These experiences will help to manage the challenges in the future working life.
Ena from Mainz:...I came to EOC in Bali to study because I wanted to experience Asia and it was my first time here. I study Tourism Management, so Bali was the right spot to study and to experience a new culture. I really enjoyed my stay here very much and I will never forget the time. I think I learned a lot during my stay, not only in the seminars but also in the new exotic environment.
Angie from Bamberg:...Bali is a very interesting meeting point for western and eastern cultures and tourists coming here from all over the world. Wherever you go you experience new behaviours and attitudes, sometimes strange, funny or surprising. Anyways it is very interesting how people can live with each other so peaceful!
Helena from Flensburg:...Different culture, different people, different traffic, different study - but totally worth it!
Antonia from Arnsberg:...Bali is like a special chocolate cake - you are so excited about it, it is tasty and sweet, you enjoy it, but in the end got used to it and you have the feeling as if you belong to it.
Eva from Herford:...It is not all about studying: one semester at EOC in Bali is a life experience because of a totally different culture, life style, hot climate and variety of nature.
Henning from Flensburg:...EOC is a good mix of interesting seminars on a high academic level and a cultural experience that changed the mentality. Many exciting opportunities to spend your free time...surfing, traveling, partying!
Katharina from Timmendorfer Strand:...I study at EOC in Bali because for me it is the best combination of good education, strange culture, another continent and fantastic waves!

but to *understand* and *getting used* to it you have to be over there.
